From us Catholics, we apologize for the continued existence of "commentary from a Catholic perspective" or "through a Catholic lens" in which the author exhibits his utter lack of familiarity with Catholicism.

The same reason Hollywood and series writers can’t convincingly write any male character that isn’t trans or queer anymore. No understanding of the other, no attempt at research. Just a regurgitation of memes passed around in their leftist circles.

The only genre that Hollywood does even fairly well now is horror and that's likely due to their worship of the devil.

And mass mental illness, both diagnosed and undiagnosed, amongst the writers and showrunners.

Most horror is not 'Hollywood' but independent.

No one said Hollywood makes most horror movies.

Fair enough. Name a 'Hollywood' horror film so I can see what you mean.

Your statement that "most horror" is not by Hollywood implies that at least some is by Hollywood. You go ahead and pick one. I have zero interest in having a retarded argument about whether something is from Hollywood or its independent or some combination of both.

Co-signed. But on the bright side, it's always fun to read a good solid dunk, as this piece most certainly was.

"It’s either a bot, his girlfriend, or more likely both." OK, that's very funny.

That was a fun read. When I read his response I immediately thought, "he's from Portland" - I was wrong, Seattle. There used to be a saying, "keep Portland weird" which I always thought was charming. I don't any longer. Weird has turned into mean, confused, sad, nasty - Prius after Prius log jammed into a tiny corner of the country angry at the world, but I suppose it's to be expected when you have a doctorate, the debt to go with it, and Antifa rejects you.

Hah! *I'm* from Portland! Since '87!

At first the saying was simply colorful, like mayor Bud Clark was, but for at least the last 10 years I've thought that those bumper stickers were entirely superfluous because there seems to be little danger of it ever becoming something other than, well...*weird*.

Since the election I've been tooling around various forums and reading some opinion pieces from traditional sources. I was somewhat surprised just how hard many people seem to have taken the results of the election--even people who are older and have apparently been around for a while.

I engaged lightly with some of the comments and the vehemence of the response--like a nuclear counterstrike for flatulence at prayer--was really marked.

Often they related how badly they'd felt, in some cases missing work, after the 2016 election. They proudly and steadfastly announce that they're controlling their feelings better.

And none of them--not one--has any idea why Trump was elected either time. However, they uniformly *think* that they do, and assuming that I voted for Trump (I haven't voted for pres since Obama in 2008) they are prepared to tell *me* why I voted for him.

And that's why Trump won.

I saw a post of a Harris voting lady having a come apart because if people knew that Trump was going to destroy agencies, deport Dreamers, purge the universities, and put tariffs on everything they never would have voted for him. I responded that not only did we know that is what he planned to do but that we voted for him precisely because we want all those things and he’s the first one to offer to do them. I gave numerous examples of why each of the actions was attractive to Trump voters. I was extremely polite, yet was immediately blocked. I will give her some credit though, usually her side calls names and then blocks, at least she went right for the block button. Trump voters are either evil fascists or ignorant rubes, there is no other possible explanation. I suppose to be fair I’m not much better because while I do understand why someone might have voted to re-elect our state’s Democrat Senator, I really struggle to see a reasonable explanation for voting for Harris.

These over-credentialed libtards and their refusal to accept what fools they are to have swallowed a narrative of lies are like Vizzini in "The Princess Bride."

"I know you are going to try to convince me that I am a victim of a psyop, which tells me that you are perpetrating a psyop to make me believe I am a victim of a psyop. Heh-heh! But since I went to Berkley and am well-versed in the arts of brainwashing, I know you knew I would know you would try to psyop me by telling me I am a victim of a psyop, which tells me that you know that I know that you know it is YOU who is the victim of a psyop!"

I’m sorry that you suffered such a response. It seems standard and liberals (1) have to defend liberalism as its own tradition rather than “natural”; (2) as a means to attempt to maintain their Kantian moral duty to the ‘ought’ and thus against postliberal ‘heretics.’ Perhaps we need to develop different rhetorics in response to attempts to bully. But we can’t be bullied. Your mixture of rhetoric and substance in response makes its impact, although probably infuriates the liberal true believers.

Imagine being Katt Williams:

- You spend decades with a middling show business career

- You watch Kevin Hart pile up Hollywood contracts with half as much talent as you have

- But at the same time you know the terrible price of success.

- You wrap up a stressful 3 hour interview with FBI agents on the Diddy case. You're nervous you've told them more than you should have

- You get home and see you have 10 missed calls from Michele Obama and that sets you on edge

- The weed isn't helping

- You log onto Substack for some memes and light metaphysics to take your mind off things

- A fake internet librarian tells you the gay black Illuminati isn't real.
